INTERACTIVE MUSEUM IN HAUGESUND, NORWAY

About us

Haugalandet is known for its rich Viking history and is often referred to as "Homeland of the Viking kings & queens". The concept of The Viking Planet is based on the history of the area and much of the content of the digital presentation was filmed here in the region. The Viking Planet is established as a digital Viking museum and experience center where history is communicated through new technology such as VR, 3D presentations and digital solutions. In 2019, the first The Viking Planet was opened in Oslo. In 2023, a local The Viking Planet was established in the very epicenter of Haugalandet. This is to convey our local Viking history in an efficient and modern way, to encourage interested parties to take a trip to the Viking Farm and the Viking Museum at Avaldsnes for more learning. The Viking Planet Haugesund is a digital museum located in the center of Haugesund, a short distance from the cruise terminal, tourist information and the city's shopping street.
